A List of Stuff You Need In Order To Survive Outdoors
If you are someone who loves the outdoors and wants to spend significant time camping and mountain trekking in remote and isolated places, then you probably are aware how important it is to always bring the necessary survival gear in order to survive. Now the question is what should comprise this kit?
1 – Knife
When you’re camping and you don’t bring with you a knife as part of your outdoor survival gear, then you’re like lacking one hand. A knife isn’t just for kitchen use; it in fact is an essential part of any survival gear. The reason why you can’t go out there without it is because it can do so many things that other outdoor survival gear and tools cannot. The knife is the tool you need in order to cut rope, bandages, and clothing, prepare food, cut wood to build fire and build shelter, and many more.
2 – Cordage
Any DIY survival gear needs rope, without a doubt. The fact is it almost is impossible to survive out there in a remote place or in the wild if you don’t have a rope with you or if you don’t know how to make one. You see, rope is actually as important as a knife because without it, you cannot in anyway build a stable temporary shelter, making splints, lash poles, keep food together, climb, and make traps for animals.
3 – Hydration System
This one right here needs no explanation. Anyway, a normal person can survive days even without food, so long as there is water. Therefore, the failure to bring any kind of hydration system or water storage will decrease your chances of surviving out there. You need to understand that not all water you get access to outdoors is clean.
4 – Signaling Equipment
Once you find yourself in a survival situation after camping and there seems to be no one else around, it means that one of your primary objectives is to look for ways to contact people. As the days go by without contact, you decrease your chances of being rescued. So as to be sure you have some aid in terms of establishing contact when you’re in a survival situation, always bring with you a signaling equipment. A mirror, whistle, and anything that can produce light will be of great help. You just can forget bringing along a signaling equipment since it’s an essential tactical survival gear.
The fact is there still are so many things you should be bringing with you if you go out camping or hiking and we leave the responsibility of learning the rest to you.
